Flowering trees are a particular delight, and have always been a favorite painting subject. While painting this on location in a nearby park, passers-by said that at first they thought I was operating a lemonade stand, due to the umbrella I use to shade the canvas. After the 3rd or 4th time, I began to think I'd missed my true calling!
The title refers to a favorite piano composition by Sergei Rachmaninov.
